If he is elected president of Ghana, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, a flag bearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has vowed to restore the seeming lack of patriotism, honesty, and discipline among Ghanaians.
Mr. Agyepong, who also serves as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, asserted that if the populace abandoned the prevalent corruption, dishonesty, and other grave attitudes that impeded investments and wealth creation, the nation could only make a quantum jump in its development drive
It is about time we encourage Ghanaians to embrace their country, Mr. Agyepong said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the eve of the Central Regional Reconciliation Engagement hosted by the party on Sunday.
“To build a better society for all Ghanaians, we must be steadfast in promoting positive ethical principles and behaviors among Ghanaians.”
In his phrases, “It is a misnomer and until we, as a people, take it upon ourselves not only to ensure good sanitation facilities and cultivate habits which restrain us from littering the environment, we will always find ourselves in messy surroundings compounded by the waste plastics, particularly just at beaches.
He said that achieving the eight depended on a number of factors, but that unity was one of the most important. He continued, “Until we present a united front, it will just be a slogan, a dream.”
“We must put aside our disagreements and consider the success of the party as the reason for our continued unity as a family. Let’s band together to hold on to power, he said.
