Henry Asante Twum, the GFA’s spokesperson, revealed that there has been a flurry of interest in the open Black Stars position.

The Black Stars

He claimed that over a thousand applications for the position had been submitted to the Football Association in recent weeks.

Additionally, he denied earlier media allegations that the Ghana FA had narrowed its search for coaches to three.
“The position is available to all. when you are an accomplished coach. No shortlist has been created, but when the time is perfect, we will “.
Added him: “It is imperative to select a skilled coach. We are only considering a coach’s competence and not their ethnicity or color.”
In related news, James Kwesi Appiah, a former Black Stars coach, has reapplied for the position.
This comes after Appiah had said he would be willing to taking over as head coach of the Black Stars again if asked.
The 62-year-old has already served the national team twice; during his first spell, which lasted from 2012 to 2014, he led Ghana to the World Cup in Brazil.
In 2017, Appiah was rehired to replace Israeli manager Avram Grant as Black Stars coach.
But because the Ghana Football Association (GFA) denied the option to extend it, his term ended on December 31, 2019.
