Christian Atsu’s family and H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo will meet today to complete the burial arrangements

We will visit the President on Monday,” Mustapha Yussif, the minister of youth and sports, informed the media. The plan that the family presented to the Ministry and GFA would then be made public because it is dependent upon the president’s approval. To ensure a respectable funeral, a committee has also been formed to plan it.

The government has promised to work closely with the family to ensure that Atsu is buried respectfully.

Before to the late footballer’s final funeral rites, deliberations were concluded last Friday between the Atsu family, officials of the Ghana Football Association, and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif.


Christian Atsu was discovered dead under the wreckage at his apartment in Turkey following the 7.8 magnitude disaster.

Following that, his body was transported to Ghana, where officials, footballers, teammates, fans, and Ghanaians in general expressed their sympathies to the grieving family.


On March 4, 2023, a one-week memorial observance will be held at Adjiringanor in Accra in honor of the departed football player.
