HOW I LOST MY V!RGIN!TY ( EPISODE 2 )

THIS IS A TRUE LIFE STORY THAT HAPPENED IN THE UNIVERSITY OF CAPE COAST

EPISODE 2

I spun around to face him as my internal rage increased. I wondered, “What could possibly motivate him to want to speak with me?” I yelled at him, “What do you want?! “, using my rage from my humiliation. just confronted, unconcerned by the curious glances of the watching students. He said “Hi” and skillfully answered my query. He had a smug smirk on his face, as if he had planned to completely humiliate me that day. He remarked, “I just want to commend you for what you pulled out there, you were truly amazing.” What did he think of me? I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I couldn’t compete with him in books, did I? I stood there, transfixed like a statue, not making a move at all. “I was considering meeting you, and just have a conversation with you with no strings attached. There was a part of me that wanted to slap him hard, but I refrained. I muttered and walked away after giving him a disdainful look that could crush any boy’s heart.

Later at my hostel, Anita said, “I just can’t comprehend WHY you chose to humiliate that lovely young man who invited you over to have a few drinks with him and meant no harm at all.” My roommate Anita and I shared the same department. Mother had always been against my harshness with boys, believing that “it might bite me in the bum.” Despite the fact that she was my close friend, I was unable to put up with her constant chants and ranting about how I treat boys.  I said to her, “Look, Anita, it’s none of your business how I handle boys,” in an effort to silence her. But you must understand that you cannot continue treating males in this manner due to your prior experience, which you have chosen to keep to yourself. It’s really unfair,” she continued.

I asked you, “Please Anita, I have had enough embarrassment for one day, let me be,” hoping to get her to stop talking. Anita pleaded with me, “for your own sake. “She continued by pleadingly saying, “I don’t know what your past experience might have been, but you simply have to let it go and open yourself to reality, to the world, they are still humans. I thought, “finally, some me time,” as I collapsed to the ground. My thoughts immediately went back to what Anita had said. Maybe Time to confront reality or possibly face the outside world. I shouldn’t exert revenge on someone else for the sin of another. They are still humans, as she remarked. Maybe I should relax and give them a break before the real deal begins. However, after giving it some more thinking, I realized that I simply couldn’t because of the weight on my heart. I don’t care who gets wounded; someone is going to have to pay the price. As I continued thinking, I noticed that I was already crying clearly since tears were already running down my cheeks. When my phone rang, jolting me out of my thoughts, I had just begun to relax. Without even trying to see who was calling, I sloppily took up the phone and answered it.

“Hello, who are you?” I struggled to remember whose voice it was. “Arrrrh, you mean you don’t have my number?” he questioned. “It’s me Tolu, your best friend,  so u don’t have my number? “,  “Oh oh, am so sorry, why won’t I have your number?” I gave a defensive reply, answering each question with another. I said, “I’m in bed, and I didn’t even check the phone to see who was calling.” “Chai, you’re enjoying it; notice how slothful you are; this hot afternoon, you’re in bed?.” Anyway, Sha, you said you’d be at my cousin’s birthday party and now you’re telling me you’re still in bed, is that fair? I said, “Jeez, I can’t believe I completely forgot about the party, but I don’t think I can make it, since I’m not feeling too well. “Ah, does Belle still exist?” I responded to Tolu’s playful query, “What kind of nonsense question is that?” tolu was already laughing rhetorically. Although Tolu was my female best friend, I disliked the way she tormented and played practical jokes on others, mocking them on purpose. She said, “come on  babe, you had promised you would be at the party and don’t promise and fail now o,” to which she replied, “am just kidding.” She beckoned. Okay, whatever. I’ll attempt to go, but I’ll be late. I attempted to convince Tolu, who invariably took me out to parties whenever she could.

Tolu teasely said, “That’s my girl, and don’t forget to bring your boyfriend over.”

Seriously, that girl drove me crazy. She didn’t care how i felt about boys, but she was always up for a joke and made fun of me in every manner.
“What kind of joke is that?” I inquired, feigning anger. “You better stop it o, I don’t like it, in fact, I’m not coming to that party again,” I responded, hoping to get sympathy, but this only made things worse as she taunted me even more.
I was highly enraged by her statement, “errm, I was even thinking of arranging one handsome dude for you here.”
Sincerely, the girl’s tone at that time truly required some slap.

“It seems you have airtime to burn this afternoon, bah?” I questioned as Tolu carried on with her contagious laughter. I snarled and hung up the phone.
I actually didn’t have to go to the party, but I was compelled to do so by something. I quickly showered in my bathroom before getting ready to go to the party, completely oblivious to what I would encounter there.
