The University of Cape Coast is continuing to make waves after its recent ranking.
Known for their relentless nature in competition and their challenge to beat existing odds for greatness, it did not come as a surprise when news of their basketball team’s triumph came into the media space.
The UCC Wildcats previously participated in the organized GUSA games held at KNUST, and they performed extremely well. Judging from their recent success, one would have anticipated them to take it easy and relax before their next adventure. However, they raised the flag of Ghana high when they went ahead to win the 2023 FASU 3X3 Basketball tournament.
Overall, twelve universities participated in this tournament, including the likes of the University of Ghana, Copperbelt University in Zambia, North-West University in South Africa, and eight other universities from Botswana, Uganda, Zambia, and Kenya had the privilege of contesting in this competition.
James Amotoe, Frederick Asante, Kabu Dake, and Godfred Bawa were the representatives of the UCC Wildcats. In an interview with Kabu Dake, one of the core leading members of the team, on their motivation going into the game and the challenges they faced, he had this to say:
“The only challenge we faced here was the weather. For motivation, we were built to play.”
Judging from their discipline and how they have been programmed to do exploits, it will not come as a surprise if they continue to win more medals. A big fan of the team had this to say:
“These boys are good. They will take the level of basketball to a different level if they continue to stay disciplined.”
