Ghanaian man arrested in the US for allegedly killing his wife

A Ghanaian man has been detained by police in Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA, on suspicion of being involved in his wife’s death.

According to reports, the district attorney stated that an investigation found that Winifred, 46, and Harrison Boakye had a violent confrontation in the restroom prior to Winifred’s unfortunate death.

Winifred had reportedly been personally strangled, which led to the death being ruled a homicide, according to the authorities.

Harrison Boakye was detained and first charged with aggravated assault on the day of the event. However, according to sources, the District Attorney stated that Boakye was charged with first-degree murder, third-degree murder, and other offenses on Wednesday, July 12.

On Friday about 8:30 a.m., Fleetwood Police received a complaint stating that a domestic dispute had broken out at a residence in the unit block of Middletown Road. When police officers quickly arrived, they discovered a 33-year-old woman inside the residence not breathing.

The victim was desperately trying to be saved by the officers and EMS, but they were unable to do so, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death of the mother of two was the subject of an investigation by Berks police.

The Ghanaian couple had a history of domestic conflicts, but her death came as a complete shock, according to a local resident only named as Hartman.

“Due to knowing domestic issues prior, we kind of thought maybe she’d had enough. We weren’t sure, but yeah so we were very shocked when we did hear that she was deceased.

“The thing is you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. They seemed like the perfect family. They just put new equipment out there for the kids,” Hartman is quoted to have said.

The couple’s two children are rumored to have been taken into the Berks County authorities’ shelter in the meantime.
