Kevin Prince Boateng, a former midfielder with the Black Stars, has declared his retirement from football at the age of 36.
He played for Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups despite his Black Stars career being cut short by conduct problems.
The athlete announced his retirement from the sport on Instagram.
I cherish you. But for me, that’s a wrap. Boateng last played for Hertha BSC and departed the club after two years as a result of their relegation from the Bundesliga. “Thank you FOOTBALL for everything,” he said.
The former Black Stars midfielder had an up-and-down career that took him across Europe to play for teams like Schalke 04, Portsmouth, Sassuolo, AC Milan, Besiktas, Barcelona, and Sassuolo.
He appeared in 163 games for the Bundesliga and scored a total of 76 goals in 502 game appearances.
