In the early hours of this morning, Saturday, January 28, 2023, in Wassa Agona in the Western Region, police arrested four people in connection with an attack on a gas station and the death of a security guard.
During the heist, the suspects Francis Ebuka, Wisdom Justway, Samuel Chibuzor, and Kinglsy Okechuku alias Kofi Kingsly beat the gasoline attendants severely and made off with an undisclosed sum of money, the filling station’s CCTV Digital Video Recorder (DVR), and the victims’ cell phones.
Francis Ebuka, Wisdom Justway, and Samuel Chibuzor, who were leaving the site of the heist on a motorcycle, were apprehended by police patrol teams who had pulled up within the catchment area and arrived at the scene during the operation.
During the course of the search, a black hood, a purse holding two mobile phones, and Twenty Thousand, Seven Hundred and Twenty-Two Cedis (GH 20,722.00) were found on them.
Kingsly Okechuku, the fourth suspect, was tracked by the police squad to a motel close to Bogoso, where they were able to recover money from him that was believed to be part of their loot—GH$44,852.00.
The police team managed to retrieve GH$44,852.00 from Kingsly Okechuku, the fourth suspect, after following him to a motel near to Bogoso. This money was thought to be part of the group’s plunder.
