Over the weekend, reports surfaced that unidentified intruders had murdered a uniformed soldier in Ashaiman.
A gang of soldiers invaded the neighborhood early on Tuesday morning as it was pouring rain in order to exact retribution on civilians.
The military was occasionally seen beating up citizens in social media videos that went viral.
Another video showed Ashaiman’s streets in complete silence, with many people hiding in their rooms out of dread of the army.
In the meantime, several Ghanaians have responded to the military invasion of Ashaiman on social media.
While some people decried the soldiers’ treatment of civilians, others supported their use of such tactics to track down the culprits of the murder.
