After leading his team to a treble this year, the 32-year-old will leave City.

Gundogan was given a one-year contract to stay at the Etihad, but he declined it in favor of joining the Catalan powerhouses.

After the midfielder recently returned from his international duty with Germany, it is said that he and his representatives held discussions.

We are aware that money is not an issue and that the player’s choice is entirely centered on his family.

The international player from Germany will also have the choice of a second year with Barcelona.

The player was part of Barca’s “financial viability plans” that LaLiga approved at the beginning of the month and had been planned out well in advance.

Gundogan will team up with Barcelona manager Xavi after passing his medical in Catalonia, who he has previously praised.

Gundogan stated earlier this year, “There wasn’t a particular player for me, but there were players like Zidane or Xavi, or even a player like Andrea Pirlo.

They are players I admired greatly and enjoyed watching; perhaps this is because I play a position akin to theirs.
